Hours
Emergency services are available 24 hours each day, seven days each week. As of April 9, 2012 the Walker Fire Department Offices will be Open 7:30am until 5:00pm Monday thru Thursday, and 7:30 to 11:30am on Friday.

Executive Summary

Walker Fire Department in action!Burning Permits

To obtain a burning permit:  visit Walker City Hall, located at 4243 Remembrance Rd., NW.  The receptionist will issue the burning permits.  Permits are issued for Spring and Fall open burning.  Permits are for lawn/yard waste only!  You will receive dates and rules for open burning when you obtain your permit.

Activities

The Walker Fire Department offers the following Fire Prevention Programs to the community. Contact Fire Prevention Specialist Phil McCormack or Fire Prevention Officer / Inspector Kevin DeGroot at: (616)791-6840 for more information.

In addition to fighting fires, the Walker Fire Department is involved in:

  • Visits schools during Fire Prevention Week.
  • School visits periodically during the school year.
  • Conducts fire extinguisher training and fire prevention training for local business.
  • Fire prevention programs for church organizations.
  • Community caregivers.
  • Tours of the fire stations.
  • Available to any group (i.e. Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Senior groups, Church groups, etc.) for various fire prevention activities.
