Commission Meetings |
Change in City Commission Meeting Times
Begin March 12, 2012
The City Commission will begin their regular meetings at 7:00pm
beginning with the March 12, 2012 meeting. This is a change from the
current 8:00pm start time. They will continue to meet prior to the
regular meeting as a Committee of the Whole, with those meetings to
start at 6:30pm. The change was made in an effort to better utilize
time, eliminate confusion over when the formal meeting begins, and
to be more responsive to citizen needs and schedules. The new
meeting time will also be consistent with the start time of other
regular City meetings such as the Planning Commission and Zoning
Board of Appeals. The City Commission meetings are held on the
second and fourth Monday of every month.
7:00pm (beginning March 12) - second and fourth Monday of each month in
the Walker City Hall/Commission Chambers, 4243 Remembrance Rd. NW.

7:00pm - second and fourth Thursday of each month
to hear appeals on the city's zoning regulations in the City
Commission Chambers - 4243 Remembrance Rd., NW.

Commission |
7:00pm - first and third Wednesday of each month to
make recommendations regarding land use planning and zoning
concerns at City Hall, City Commission Chambers, 4243 Remembrance

Review |
| Meeting open to public in March to discuss property
tax assessments before the board in the City Hall Conference Room -

Historical Commission |
7:00 pm - second Tuesday of every month to discuss
museum displays and preservation of artifacts.

Community Relations Committee |
| Meet third Wednesday of every month to discuss City
fairs, festivals and awards to be given for special achievements in

| As needed to discuss Sister City school exchange

Mining Review Board |
Meetings are held as needed. *Reviews
applications for mineral extraction in the City.
